What is Time-binding?

A concept created by Alfred Korzybski and defined by Wikipedia as:
“The human ability to pass information and knowledge between generations at an accelerating rate.  Korzybski claimed this to be a unique capacity, separating us from other animals.  Animals pass knowledge, but not at an exponential rate, i.e., each generation of animals does things pretty much in the same way as the previous generation.  For example, humans used to look for food, now we grow or raise it.  Animals are still looking, i.e., they don't consciously grow or raise food.”

Additional examples of time-binding in science would be that Einstein learned from Newton, Newton from Galileo.  Examples of time-binding from social science would be that Martin Luther King read Gandhi, Gandhi learned from Tolstoy, Tolstoy read Thoreau; or Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin read John Locke, etc.

What about business?  How do companies apply time-binding?  Study the history of people like Henry Ford, John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, George Eastman, Alexander Graham Bell, Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, Michael Dell, and Steve Jobs.  The list could go on and on, but the one common factor remains, application of a concept called time-binding.

How can you apply the concepts of time-binding? It all starts with the Business Checkup. This unique, yet highly effective service, provides, as one of its parts, an introduction to the Model of Human Behavior. Our experience has shown that the concepts of time-binding cannot be applied until after an effective understanding of the Model of Human Behavior and its impact on the decision making process is fully understood. Once understood, our time proven techniques will almost instantaneously and exponentially empower you with the ability to learn the skill set called business owner mentality.

Socrates said it this way: “Employ your time in improving yourself by other men’s writings so that you shall come easily by what others have labored hard for.”

Thoreau said it this way: “Things do not change; we change.”

Need more proof.  Let us take a look at this great nation we call the United States of America.  Entrepreneurs founded it.  Think about it.  When the Pilgrims landed, the Indians were not hiring.  People did not come to America to get a job.  They came to America with a trade or skill that had been passed down to them through a mentor-protégé relationship.

Need more proof.  King Arthur had his round table.  The President of the United States has his Cabinet.  Publicly held companies have a Board of Directors.  The evidence is all around us, yet to many, this is new information.  How could the apparent be so transparent?

Is it possible that there are only three kinds of information?

1)    Information that you know
2)    Information that you know you don’t know
3)    Information that you don’t know that you don’t know.

At TFL Worldwide, we believe most of the information needed to succeed in business is usually found in the third category.  We have developed a system that will teach you the skill set called business owner mentality.  Business owner mentality is a set of skills.  It is not a talent or natural gift that you are born with.  A skill is a learned behavior that must be developed in order to produce results.  Our firm will help you acquire this skill set by applying the principles of time-binding. Then you too can leverage the power of the information age and exponentially grow your business.
